WILD card Harriet Dart kept the British flag flying at the Fuzion 100 Ilkley Trophy on a day of carnage for the seeds in the women's singles.
Her match against experienced Dutch player Richel Hogenkamp should have been closer as far as the rankings were concerned, with Dart at 190 compared to Hogenkamp's 163, but it wasn't much closer on court as the 21-year-old Londoner triumphed 6-3, 6-0.
Next up for Dart is another Russian, Anna Kalinskaya, who put out fifth seed Arantxa Rus (Netherlands) 6-0, 6-4.
World No 206 Swan almost caused one of the upsets, only losing 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to third seed Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand in the first round.
The 19-year-old from Bristol went down in 2hr 3min against the world No 92, who booked her place in the last 16.
Now Kumkhum will play Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova, one of the few seeds to survive.
Other seeds to bite the dust were No 2 Belinda Bencic (Switzerland), No 6 Nicole Gibbs (United States) and No 8 Sara Sorribes Tormo (Spain).
Bencic retired when trailing 6-2, 2-0 to qualifier Abigail Tere-Apisah (Papua New Guinea), Gibbs was beaten 2-6, 5-3, 6-0 by 2016 winner Evgeniya Rodina (Russia) and American Lauren Davis saw off Tormo 6-0, 7-6 (7-3).
