DEAN Harrison (Kawasaki Silicone Engineering) bounced back from failing to finish in Saturday's RST Superbike race after clutch trouble by claiming two podium finishes in yesterday's Isle of Man TT.

The Bradford man finished second in the Supersport race and third in the RL 360 Superstock race.

Michael Dunlop (Honda MD Racing) backed up his Superbike victory by taking the first Supersport race, while Peter Hickman triumphed in the Superstock category.

Harrison was leading the Superbike race until he was overtaken by Dunlop midway through the opening lap, and the Northern Irishman broke his own lap record, set five years ago, with an average speed of 129.197mph on the second lap.

It was the 17th TT win of Dunlop's career, putting him ahead of the 'Bingley Bullet' Ian Hutchinson and only behind legends Joey Dunlop (26 wins) and John McGuinness (23).

However, the race was marred by the death of Scottish rider Adam Lyon.

The 26-year-old Helensburgh man was the second rider to lose his life at this year's TT following the death of Manxman Dan Kneen in Supersport practice last Wednesday.

Dunlop led Harrison by 1.7 seconds after lap one and gradually extended his advantage with the help of that record-breaking lap.

Lincolnshire's Peter Hickman, riding a Triumph, edged out Kawasaki's James Hillier by 0.25 seconds for third place, but made up for that later in the afternoon by winning the Superstock race.

Dunlop was second and Harrison third, but all three riders finished the final lap in under 17 minutes as the warm conditions made for fast times.

Harrison was 3.5 seconds ahead of Dunlop on the first lap at Glen Helen, and had extended that to 4.4sec by Ballaugh, 4.871sec by Ramsey and 5.4sec at Bungalow, with Harrison going through the speed trap at Sulby at 189.60mph.

His average speed of 133.473mph was just short of the lap record, and the margin was 5.77sec by the time Glen Helen was reached on lap two, but things became closer after the pit stops, with just 1.2sec covering the top three, although Hickman had the edge after a lap record of 134.077mph.
