SAM Brooks and Harrison Houldsworth were the golfing heroes for Bingley St Ives B as their team secured a narrow Junior Team Championship victory at Ghyll.

With the top two scores for each side counting towards their final total, Brooks and Houldsworth shot 38 and 36 respectively as Bingley racked up 74.

They were pushed all the way by Rawdon, who closed just two behind on 72, thanks to Sam Taylor's 37 and Oliver Shakeshaft's 35.

Cleckheaton rounded off the top three by finishing on a fine 71. Thomas and Jamie Green did the business for them, scoring 37 and 34 respectively.

Bradford (68) and Ghyll (67) completed the top five.

Brooks' efforts for Bingley St Ives B meant that he also achieved the top Nett score at the competition, one ahead of Taylor, Thomas Green, Dan Broad and Spencer Datkiewicz.
