A LATE alteration to the fixture programme means Queensbury and Birkenshaw are set to lock horns in league action tomorrow.

The pair were among four local sides due to compete in the first round of the Bradford ARL Jack Senior Memorial Cup this weekend.

But adminstration issues relating to player insurance meant the competition has been put on hold until next month.

That means Bury will look to build on their impressive start to the new year which saw them hammer Beeston Broncos to go two points above Birky in Pennine League Division Two Central.

Wyke and Clayton both had a bye in the first round of the cup, so were already preparing for action in the same division with home ties against the bottom two clubs.

Mid-table Wyke host basement side Wakefield City, who are yet to win a game this season, while Clayton will resume their play-off push when they welcome Beeston Broncos.

In the division’s other fixtures, Eastmoor Dragons travel to Woodhouse Warriors and Oulton Raiders will play Wortley Dragons.

Brighouse Rangers have no game this week in the Pennine League Championship. They had been due to play Keighley Cougars Reserves in a friendly on Wednesday, but the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
