BOTH of last night’s fixtures featuring local clubs were subjected to postponements, meaning three of the area’s clubs were denied action yet again.
All three were forced to sit out at the weekend as the snow, ice and frost caused blanket postponements, but last night it was the incessant rain that was the problem as the games were washed out.
Campion were due to host Farsley Celtic in a West Riding County Cup quarter-final, and a new date for that game is yet to be agreed.
Eccleshill United should also have been in knockout action but their Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup second-round tie at Athersley Recreation was also called off.
That was only after a 5pm pitch inspection, which did not go down well with the Eagles as some of their players had begged time off work, and a few were already en route to Athersley when the call came.
