SILSDEN under-21s claimed bragging rights in their local derby with Campion, emerging 2-1 victors in the West Riding County FA League.

Campion dominated much of the first half but failed to convert any of their chances and Silsden took full advantage with a brace from Nick McNally.

With Campion two goals behind at the break, they came out fighting and finally made a breakthrough with a goal from Jahro Parchment.

They continued to control the game after pulling one back but failed in their search for an equaliser – not helped by Danny Oldcorn's sending off.

Campion manager Louis Etienne said: "We left the Silsden ground in total disbelief that we hadn't taken all three points."

Meanwhile, Silsden boss Paul Evans was delighted with his team clinching the win.

"Campion are a good side and put us under a lot of pressure, especially late in the game," he said.

"However, a combination of good goalkeeping and defending enabled us to hold on for a hard-earned win."

Thackley under-21s could only draw 1-1 at Malt Shovel, a result that leaves them still winless and stuck at the foot of the table.

The visitors started slowly and gave away a soft goal after 15 minutes but responded by finally getting their game together and equalised in the 75th minute through Nathan McDonell.

Thackley manager Nathan Priestly said: "We gave a great away performance and felt we were unlucky not to pick up all three points."

The match between Goole and Brighouse Town was postponed as Goole's first team had a rearranged match.
