GUISELEY Vixens may still be sitting at the foot of the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division but they are enjoying the cup competitions.

They go into their League Cup first round West Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield Town tomorrow fresh from a 6-0 victory at Brighouse Athletic in the West Riding County FA Women's Cup.

Despite not fielding a full strength first team, Guiseley proved too good for their West Riding County League opponents. Having led 2-0 at the break with goals from Harriet Jakeman and Megan Maxted, second-half strikes from Liz White, Hannah Brierley, Demi Wisher and Ebony Njie secured a spot in round two.

In the other County Cup ties, Lower Hopton produced a memorable giant killing when the WRCFL Second Division outfit won 5-3 at home to Premier Division side Bradford Park Avenue.

Ruby Marlow took advantage of defensive errors to score twice and give Hopton a 2-0 lead at half-time, and though Avenue hit back to score through Kirsty Russell (2) and Nicky Holdsworth, they were matched goal for goal by Marlow who grabbed all five for her side to secure a second-round tie at home to Leeds United.

WRCFL Division Three side Tyersal have a plum last eight clash with neighbouring FA Women's Premier League giants Bradford City after their first round opponents, Amaranth, failed to raise a side, while the delayed tie between Yorkshire Amateur and Farsley Celtic will take place tomorrow.

Silsden, Thackley, Ilkley Town and Guiseley Vixens' reserves all had a first round bye.

Brighouse Town will be hoping to shake off the disappointment of their penalty shootout defeat against holders Bradford City when they take on Chester le Street in the FA Premier League Cup tomorrow, while in the WRCFL Premier Division, Bradford Park Avenue are at home to Brayton Belles, with both sides still looking for their first win.

Brighouse Athletic are at home to Leeds Medics and Dentists, with both sides also still to record their first win in this division.

Farsley Celtic's reserves are looking to maintain a 100 per cent record in Division One when they take on Clifton Rangers, and it is back down to earth for Lower Hopton as they seek to preserve their perfect start in Division Two with a visit from Farsley Celtic Development.

In Division Three, second-placed Tyersal are at home to third-placed Ilkley Town, while leaders Thackley, 14-0 winners over Kirkstall Crusaders in their last game, have a blank week. On target for Thackley in that win were Vanessa Holroyd (6), Kath Connell (3), Megan Butterworth, Taylor Rushworth, Megan Schofield, Lois Cooper and Chelsey Faulkner.

The full draw for the West Riding County Cup second round is: Lower Hopton v Leeds United, Yorkshire Amateurs or Farsley Celtic v Harrogate Railway, Tyersal v Bradford City, Silsden v Thackley, Ilkley v Guiseley Vixens reserves, Ossett Albion v Leeds United, Altofts v Brayton Belles, Harrogate Town v Guiseley Vixens. Ties to be played on November 19.
