STUART McCall felt City's performance was average in their 2-0 win over Chesterfield.
Mark Marshall and Jordy Hiwula were on the scoresheet again as the Bantams followed up their comeback win at Northampton with three more points.
McCall admitted the Bantams were not at their best - but was delighted to make it back-to-back victories.
He said: "We've played better this season at home and just taken a point.
"We're disappointed with the second half because we wanted to come out and turn the screw. We missed opportunities.
"But if you said before the game we'd win 2-0, we would have taken it.
"To get results on a consistent basis, you need consistent performances. We've had that and not had the results we've merited.
"Today was an average performance but a fantastic result."
Alex Jones made a bright debut, playing 71 minutes from the start, after James Hanson suffered a knock in training.
McCall added: "I've not seen him play (live) but he's played out on the right hand for Port Vale. We know he wants to play as a number nine and that's what we've brought him for.
