BRADFORD Park Avenue will try again to complete their delayed West Riding County FA Women's County Cup game against Leeds-based Amaranth at Westwood tomorrow.
Several ties were postponed due to waterlogged pitches last Sunday and moved forward to this weekend but it was a particular disappointment for Avenue as, in a struggling West Riding League Premier Division season, any win would be a welcome boost to confidence.
Injuries and unavailability have repeatedly hampered the club's progress this season, a full squad having rarely been available.
Yet a victory over tomorrow's opponents at the same stage last year makes them favourites to go through to meet Wetherby Athletic or Leeds Medics & Dentists in round three.
In all there are ten second-round games still to play, with Ossett Town against Guiseley Vixens the only one of the eight third-round ties already decided.
The other clubs already through include Bradford City, who were 8-0 winners at Ossett Albion and will be away to either Yorkshire Amateur or Tingley Athletic.
Brighouse Town won 5-0 at Guiseley Reserves with goals from Jodie Redgrave (2), Danielle Brown, Annabelle Cass and Charlotte Proud to set up a trip to Lower Hopton or Ripon City, while Brighouse Athletic are at Tyersal or Ilkley Town.
In a bid to maintain their momentum, the Guiseley Vixens first team rearranged an FA Women's Premier League Northern Division One game at Crewe Alexandra but, on a day of widespread disruption to fixtures, that also fell victim to the weather.
Guiseley are back in league action tomorrow with a trip to Birkenhead to face Tranmere Rovers, while third-bottom Brighouse Town will hope for some success at pointless Mossley Hill as they bid to pull away from the relegation zone.
