STUART McCall reckons City are capable of mixing it with another of League One’s form teams tomorrow.

The Bantams head for unfancied Wimbledon who are flying high after going eight games unbeaten.

Kingsmeadow will be new territory for McCall and many of his squad – but he knows exactly what they can expect to face.

McCall said: “It’s another tough encounter. We met the form side last week in Sheffield United and now we’re meeting another one.

“Wimbledon had a couple of fantastic away victories and deserved them both.

“Their strength is in their togetherness and unity. They’ve got good players but no stand-outs.

“They have a great work ethic. They are aggressive, strong and fit and our lads will come off the pitch knowing they’ve been in a game.

“They are a good hard-working unit with some physical boys in there. But we’ve got lads in our group who can play like that as well.

“We need to run as hard as them and jump as high but we also need to get our foot on the ball and play. We’ve got good quality players to do that.

“We know we’ll have to give everything to come away with a positive result. But I’ve got belief in the group that we can mix it.”

James Meredith has an outside chance of being involved but is likely to be given a bit longer before returning. Striker Marc McNulty is back in the squad after being barred from facing the Blades.

City lost their previous away game to a last-gasp free-kick at Oxford – their only defeat in 15 games. McCall feels that will serve as a warning against another of the sides promoted this season.

“There are no gimmes in this league,” added the City boss. “We are playing the form team.

“We’ve got to hope that our players are on top of their game. If they are, we’ve got a good chance against anyone.

“But if we fall below the standards we’ve set, we’ll get done.

“You get different challenges in this league and this is another. The lads don’t need me telling them – they are aware of the run Wimbledon are on.”
