TIMOTHEE Dieng insists City will treat Wimbledon exactly the same as Sheffield United.

After Valley Parade’s biggest league crowd since 2001 saw the Yorkshire derby thriller, a crowd a fifth of the size will be crammed into tiny Kingsmeadow.

But Dieng is confident the Bantams will show the same mind-set and level of performance they displayed against the Blades.

He said: “It will be a different challenge to last week but it’s another League One game. We need to play every game at the same intensity.

“Obviously when there are a lot of fans behind us, it gives us more energy on the pitch.

“In our mind we have to be ready for each game, no matter how big the crowd is. The points are the same whoever you are playing.”

The Frenchman was thrilled to score his first goal in the league during the 3-3 draw and just frustrated that his volley in front of the Kop did not turn out to be a winner.

“I was very disappointed at the end because we could have won the game,” he added. “But it was a good point and keeps us going forward.

“We showed good offensive play and it’s a good sign to score goals. That shows we are going well.

“It was such a big game with a great atmosphere against a good team. It was the perfect moment for me to score my first (league) goal.

“It was at the right end as well in front of our fans and an amazing feeling.”

But even with a cracking goal under his belt, Dieng will not be taking his starting jersey for granted.

Stuart McCall has made it clear that he is not frightened of making changes and freshening up the team week on week.

Dieng had been left out against Southend for a breather and can appreciate the options at his manager’s disposal.

He said: “We have a very good squad with quality players. So we all know you have to play your best game to keep the shirt.”
