IT WAS knockout football all the way in the weekend's Bradford Sunday Alliance League programme and four Premier Division teams bit the dust at the first hurdle.

Top tie in the Senior Cup was between the respective leaders of the leading two divisions and top-flight Oakenshaw survived a scare against Lyceum at Harold Park.

The contest was level at 2-2 after 90 minutes as a goal in each half by Josh Hans for the Premier outfit was answered by Lakvinder Singh for the Division One pace-setters.

Lyceum could even have won when a break left their forward in a one-on-one situation with the home keeper but the chance went begging.

So it went to penalties and Oakenshaw stopper Karl Renardson proved to be the hero with two saves as his side won the shootout 4-1, Josh Ludford hitting home the winning spot-kick.

Sandy Lane also went to a penalty eliminator against Division One outfit Olympic and this time it was the second-tier side who emerged victorious.

Chris Royston bagged a brace for the Premier side and Declan Corby was also on target in a 3-3 draw before Olympic edged the shootout 5-4.

Another Premier casualty on penalties was Ventus United as they drew 1-1 at Swain Green, who had Christian Soda on target.

Mark Shute equalised for Ventus but again the Division One team held their nerve to win the extras 5-4.

Hassan Ali scored twice as Thornbury Celtic made the division's difference count to win 6-2 at Prospect.

Premier team Bradford Moor trailed Division One bottom side Wyke Rangers 3-1 at the interval but finished strongly to win 5-3 thanks to a Mohammed Ismaeel hat-trick.

The second-level Intermediate Cup saw holders YMCC bow out at the first time of asking after a marathon shoot-out at Queensbury.

The teams were locked together at 2-2 ahead of penalties, Lewis Forsythe scoring both Queensbury goals, and then reached 11-11 before YMCC finally blinked.

Thomas Boocock grabbed a hat-trick for Eccleshill United as they made progress 5-2 at the expense of Beldon Oddies Reserves.

The lower-level Amateur Cup saw Turf hold on to win 6-5 after a thriller against Chapel House, who netted twice in the closing stages to run them close.

Turf have enjoyed a successful week, winning three games out of three, and for Matty Horsman his second hat-trick in four days proved decisive.

George United were convincing 6-2 winners over Bankfoot Lions as Daniel Pattison's treble was backed up by Ashley Smith (2) and Ryan Murgatroyd.
