HORSFORTH St Margaret’s were beaten 4-0 at home by Farsley Celtic Juniors in a feisty Marflitt Trophy cup tie.

Farsley went ahead early on through Liam Cannon and Danny Lyons grabbed a second-half brace before Craig Ferrand wrapped up the scoring and Horsforth had a man sent off.

Farnley Sports thumped St Bedes 6-0 and scored five times before the interval.

Andy Punter scored twice and Shane Gaunt notched a hat-trick, while the returning Wayne Hudson impressed with his astute distribution.

Farnley have a home tie in the quarter-finals against Beeston Juniors from the Championship.

In the second round of the Hancock Cup, Centralians Reserves beat St Bedes Reserves 4-1.

Jay Ghulzar and Christopher Able both scored twice for Centralians with Bedes’ effort coming via an own goal from Able.

Farsley Celtic Reserves destroyed Old Batelians 14-4, with the prolific Steve Wells scoring eight goals to take his domestic tally to 29 goals from nine matches.

The remaining goals were bagged by Adam Drake, Sam Ford, Chris Manning, Tyler Thompson and substitute Danny Kemp (2), while Josh Bell scored a hat-trick for Batelians.

Ealandians Reserves overcame Farnley Sports Res 6-2 with a hat-trick from man-of-the-match Richard Gerrard, making it 13 goals for the campaign, with Nathan Gregory, David Hodgson and Ollie McEwan also scoring.

Farnley scored through Michael Holland and substitute Adam Horner.

In the Premier Division, Grangefield drew 3-3 with Rodillian, who are fighting for their lives in their first Premier Division campaign.

On Saturday, fifth-placed Grangefield led 3-1 at half-time but Grant Jackson missed a 40th-minute penalty that, if converted, may well have given Grangefield an unassailable lead.

Rodillian responded well and notched two second-half goals to secure a point.

Andy Kenyon and Rhys O'Hare gave Grangefield a 2-0 lead that was countered by Luke Playford before penalty by Grant Jackson put Grangefield 3-1 in front.

In the second half, Francisco Matos and Charlie Holt goals that gleaned a splendid point for the visitors.

In Division 1, Drighlington won 3-2 at Wheelwright OB 2 thanks to goals from Jordan Brereton (2) and Sam Sowden.

Fairbank United overcame Thornesians Reserves 9-1 to continue their impressive rise to third in the table.

United’s goals came from Raffiq Ali (4), Hussain Iqbal (3), Mohammed Khan and Naveed Khan with Adam Land’s penalty the sole reply for Thornesians.
