FARSLEY Celtic are still looking to get their season up and running but they were the unfortunate ones in the draw for tomorrow’s FA Cup first qualifying round.

Three of the area’s non-league clubs are involved but Neil Parsley’s side were the only ones to get an away tie.

Not only that but it is against one of their league rivals, who have had a much better start to their Evo-Stik Division One North season.

Parsley’s first club, Witton Albion, will be Farsley’s hosts, and if league form is an indicator it could be a difficult afternoon for the Celts.

Witton are in ninth place and are already eight points better off than the visitors.

However, Tuesday’s narrow defeat at second-placed Glossop North End was Farsley’s first loss in four games.

There are signs of improvement but the lack of a cutting edge has cost the Celts so far.

Brighouse Town had the best draw of the three and they will be big favourites as they have home advantage over a side from a lower league, facing Northern League Division One Newton Aycliffe.

Thackley have battled through two rounds to reach this stage and, although they play a club from the same step on the pyramid, the Dennyboys have home advantage.

The visitors are Silsden’s North West Counties top-tier rivals Abbey Hey.

The Cobbydalers exited the FA Cup at the hands of another of their counterparts, so they are focussed on Premier Division action tomorrow. Silsden host Runcorn Town, who are currently in the relegation zone but they would go level on points with the 12th-placed Cobbydalers with a win.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, fifth-placed Albion Sports, who are reeling from a shock 4-1 FA Cup exit at Garforth Town last Saturday, host Bridlington Town, who are immediately below Albion but have played two games more.

Rivals Liversedge go into their home game in seventh place, just one point below their neighbours, but that gap could widen as Sedge face a visit from leaders Tadcaster Albion.

In Division One, Eccleshill United host Grimsby Borough, who are three places below them in the lower reaches of the table.
