Kelly Youga has been forced out of City's run-in as their faint survival hopes suffered another injury blow.

The talented African defender took a whack on the thigh during Saturday's costly loss to Leyton Orient and internal bleeding has since caused it to swell up.

Youga, who has played 11 games on loan from Charlton, is staying at the Intersonic Stadium for a few days until he is able to drive back to London.

But David Wetherall is resigned to losing his services for the remaining two games.

"It looks like we've seen the last of Kelly," he admitted. "We've had the injury scanned and it doesn't look good. I'm pretty certain the timescale for recovery will be longer than two weeks.

"It's another blow for us because he has settled in well and done a great job. Kelly has clearly enjoyed the chance to play regularly and that has shown in his performances on the pitch.

"He has looked comfortable in numerous positions we've played him and we will miss him."

Youga's injury follows similar setbacks to Moses Ashikodi and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson as the odds continue to stack up against the Bantams avoiding the drop to League Two.

Wetherall, whose side have to bridge a four-point gap to Cheltenham, added: "The last thing we need is to keep losing players who are very important to us.

"But football is like that and unfortunately injuries are part of the game. Of course it is bad news but we just have to get on with it and do the best we can with the players we have got."

Meanwhile, City are giving a trial to 17-year-old Tottenham striker Luke Medley in tomorrow's reserve game at home to Stoke (7pm).
