BROTHER and sister Ben and Emily Hurst, from Queensbury, have enjoyed further success representing the long-established Bradford Judo Club.

Emily won gold in the under-42kg section for juniors, while Ben took gold in the men's under-60kg category at the Northern Judo event at Bradford's Richard Dunn Sports Centre, as well as winning silver in the junior under-60kg section.

Clubmates Jordan Smith and Gareth Holton were also winners, with Jordan taking the men's under-66kg category and Gareth the +100kg section, in which team-mate Dave Johnson took bronze.

Bradford Judo Club, who were established in 1965 and are a Bronze Mark accredited club by Sport England, are supporting the British Judo Association's "Throw Yourself into Judo" campaign.

The club, who are always on the lookout for new members, be they juniors, seniors or beginners, will be taught by British Judo Association-registered black belt-qualified instructors.

The first few lessons are free in a sport which improves flexibility, balance and agility, as well as well-being and stamina. For further information, contact Rachel O'Keefe on 07854-598978.
