FARSLEY'S last home game of the season in Evo-Stik First Division North saw them suffer a narrow defeat but they could yet end their season with a trophy for their cabinet.

The Villagers’ faced Kendal Town and, despite an Andy Welsh brace, Neil Parsley’s men lost 3-2.

The Lakeland outfit took the lead when Jordan Connerton netted the only goal of the first half.

Farsley got back into the game when Welsh netted following a corner early in the second half, and they went ahead ten minutes later when he added his second.

The visitors hit back when Zach Clark headed them level in the 66th minute and Connerton bagged the winner soon after.

Parsley’s men have one league game remaining – at Bamber Bridge next Saturday – before they face Warrington Town in the League Cup final on Thursday, April 30 at Stockport County.

Farsley's counterparts BRIGHOUSE TOWN stretched their unbeaten run to six games as they played out a goalless draw at relegation-threatened Prescot Cables.

It was Town’s last road trip of their first campaign in the Evo-Stik League. They end their season at home to Northwich Victoria on Saturday.

A late penalty ensured THACKLEY earned a maximum from their last home game of the season in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Parkgate were the visitors at Dennyfield and they defended well until an 83rd-minute discretion, and Mike Garrod netted the resulting penalty.

LIVERSEDGE were ten places below hosts Staveley MW but they came back with a point after a goalless draw against a young home side.

In the lower tier, ECCLESHILL UNITED lost 2-1 at Wayne Benn’s Hemsworth MW after a rapid double strike from the home side.

Dominic Blair opened the scoring on the hour mark and Sam Colbear added a second a minute later. Ishmael Mills snatched a last-minute consolation for the Eagles in a 2-1 defeat.

SILSDEN lost their last home game in the North West Counties League Premier Division 1-0 to bogey side Bootle.

The Cobbydalers have never beaten the Merseyside outfit, and a 75th-minute penalty from Bootle’s Tom Peterson ensured they will finish above Silsden this season.
