SILSDEN will be hot favourites to log another home victory in the North West Counties League when they host Bacup & Rossendale Borough this weekend.

The Cobbydalers have won two and drawn one of their last four league games and have begun to climb back up the Premier Division table.

They are tenth, while their visitors are rock bottom – cut adrift by eight points from Stockport Sports, who are also in the relegation zone.

Even though they have picked up recently, Silsden still need a win to stay in the top ten after last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Squires Gate.

The Cobbydalers would have overtaken the Blackpool-based outfit with a victory on the west coast.

Club spokesman Jim Rosser said: "We didn't play well at Squires Gate but they did.

"There wasn't much between the teams but we don't win at Blackpool; never have done. It's a frustrating graveyard for us."
