WATERLOGGED pitches caused quite a few games to be postponed in the Yorkshire Amateur League but there were no problems at Bradford Academy's 4G pitch, which hosted the Premier Division match between Farsley Celtic Juniors and Trinity College.

A win would have put Juniors top but fifth-placed Trinity are one of the most difficult teams to beat in the top flight, although they needed the woodwork and a man-of-the-match display from goalkeeper Ryan Groves to secure a 0-0 draw.

A Reece Onidiran brace gave Old Modernians their first win of the season in the Championship Division, which lifted them out of the bottom two and put them just a place behind hosts Calverley United on goal difference, who they defeated 2-0.

Unbeaten Collingham Juniors expected and got a tough match from ninth-placed visitors St Bede's in Division One, only triumphing 2-1, Anthony Garner having equalised for the Bradford club 20 minutes into the second half.

St Bede's Reserves are improving but are still next to bottom in Division Two after a 4-1 defeat at mid-table Huddersfield YMCA, Dan O'Sullivan getting the consolation goal, while newcomers Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves are fourth in Division Three after a 3-1 triumph at second-placed Churwell Lions.

Joe Firth made it 1-1 in the first half and only a magnificent save by fellow Farsley 16-year-old Matty Smith kept it at that in the second half.

Celtic's Josh Sanz Carvell was the difference late on, his 75th-minute corner producing an own goal and his deflected shot then making it 3-1.

Old Batelians Thirds made it three straight wins with a 5-4 scoreline at Shire Academics Thirds in Division Five, Mike Sanderson netting four for the victors, including two penalties, with James Bland getting the other.

Stanningley Old Boys went down 3-2 at home to East End Park in the third round of the Leeds & District FA Senior Cup, and their defending will not have pleased new manager Nick Sutcliffe.

John Mallinson scored in each half for the old boys, the second being a penalty when they were dominating possession.
