An influx of fresh faces has boosted the squad at Plumpton Park but there has been one significant outgoing.

Winger Ben Hardy has been snapped up by UniBond Division One side Wakefield.

Manager Steve Watson admitted he was upset to lose one of his star players but added that the club would never stand in the way of anyone wanting to further their career.

"Wakefield have been chasing Ben for a while and the deal has been done now. He has left the club," said Watson.

"Credit to Ben, he hasn't had his head turned by it. He knew Wakefield were interested but he kept his head down and worked hard for us. He has done everything the right way.

"He wanted to try his luck at a higher level in the UniBond. I hope we are heading that way as a club and I want many of the players we have here at the moment to play in that league for Eccleshill.

"Ben said to me he was sick about leaving but I told him not to be silly and give it a real good go with his new club.

"They have offered him good terms which we couldn't have matched.

"While his leaving gives others at our club a chance to get into the first team, I would say he has been great to have around.

"I hope this move works out for him but if it doesn't, the door will always be open for him at Eccleshill."
