Silsden are looking into moving their potentially lucrative league game at home to FC United.

Frustratingly, the fixture against the division's big boys was moved from a Saturday earlier in the season to a midweek match in March. And now the Cobbydalers are considering changing their usual midweek day of Wednesday to avoid it clashing with other big games.

"We should have played them at our place but it was down for a weekend when it was one of the rounds of the FA Vase so it was put back," said Silsden boss Paul Schofield.

"It is pencilled in for midweek at the end of March now. It isn't just that fewer people travel in mid-week anyway but the fixture will also be up against something else on the night. The Champions League on live TV or something like that.

"If the league insist it is that midweek, we might have to look at trying to arrange it for anything but a Wednesday. It is our set midweek night but we will have to enter into discussions with FC and our landlords.

"The Cougars are back in full training and they will be into games by late March so our options will be even more limited."

With their tenanted home at Cougar Park, Silsden are one of few clubs who have the facilities to really cash in on a visit from FC United, formed by fans disenchanted with Malcolm Glazer's takeover at Old Traffford.

The clubs could yet meet in the League Cup. Silsden face Atherton LR at home while FC tackle Colne, with places in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
