Farsley are hoping to break back into the play-off places when they travel to Prescot Cables in Evo-Stik League Division One on Saturday.

Three league draws on the spin has slowed sixth-placed Farsley’s momentum but they are just three points behind second-placed Darlington 1883, so a win at lowly Prescot could put them right back into the mix.

With players due suspensions, the last thing boss Neil Parsley wanted was for his skipper Rob O’Brien to be missing from the engine room but he is sidelined with angle ligament damage. Ross Daly has been drafted in on loan from neighbours Bradford Park Avenue.

Parsley’s men played out a goalless draw at home to Bamber Bridge in midweek and the uneventful game was just what his side needed.

The manager saw four of his players given their marching orders in the two games prior to Tuesday.

Adam Priestley was sent off in the 3-1 West Riding County Cup tie win at Goole while Ryan Serrant, Matt Dempsey and Simeon Bambrook all saw red at Northwich Victoria last Saturday.

Parsley was left aggrieved at what he felt was poor officiating.
