Brighouse Town were beaten 2-1 at home by 2012 FA Vase winners Dunston UTS in their latest pre-season outing on Saturday.
The visitors took the lead through Andrew Bulford in the 38th minute but a Kieran Ryan goal on the stroke of half-time had Town level going into the break. However, just a minute into the second half Bulford bagged his second and Dunston’s winner.
Albion Sports looked impressive again as they followed up a draw at Farsley with a 2-1 win at Hall Road Rangers.
Karl Hall opened the scoring and Ashley Flynn doubled Albion’s lead in the second half before the home side netted a late consolation.
It was an experimental Albion squad with a lot of trialists as Kulwinder Sandhu continues his recruitment drive following last term’s promotion.
Local club Tyersal hosted Thackley and enjoyed a 3-2 victory over their higher ranking neighbours.
The home side were good value for their win against the Dennyboys. Maxwell Matambura scored in the first half and Matt Mathers after the break but it was not enough to upset Tyersal.
Thackley are back in action tonight when they host Farsley but Brighouse will not now be playing a West Riding County Amateur representative side after that game was cancelled.
The WRCA XI had a run-out on Friday evening and surprised Silsden as they won 2-0 at the Cobbydalers’ Angel Telecom Stadium.
