Kyel Reid paid tribute to City supporters after the Bantams marched to promotion with a resounding 3-0 win over Northampton in yesterday’s League Two play-off final.

The winger enjoyed an outstanding game on the left flank as first-half goals from James Hanson, Rory McArdle and Nahki Wells sealed victory.

Reid said: “I’m just happy that we’ve achieved something massive for the club and the fans.

“They’ve been magnificent and they deserve it.

“They’ve given us great support all season and I’m just happy for them and everyone involved with the club.”

Reid also reserved special praise for boss Phil Parkinson after his success in transforming the Bantams from relegation strugglers to promotion winners in the space of 12 months.

“It feels amazing,” he added.

“Fair play to all the boys, the gaffer and his management staff.

“It’s been a magnificent season and a long hard season but I’m just happy that it’s over now and we can look forward to next season.

“Was promotion the priority? Yes, of course.

“Obviously last season was a difficult season for us because we were fighting relegation.

“But this season, with the signings he has brought in, has been amazing.
“The squad that we’ve got and the team spirit is amazing.”
