Martin Allen's silence will be golden for Farsley Celtic tonight.

The flamboyant MK Dons boss usually strikes a manic pose on the touchline - and once even sat in the Valley Parade crowd to talk tactics with home fans.

But Allen was surprisingly subdued during Farsley's battling 0-0 draw at Throstle Nest nine days ago.

And Celts boss Lee Sinnott hopes another quiet night for Allen at the National Hockey Stadium could mean his part-timers are in with a shout of FA Cup glory.

"I'd been told that Martin was quite a lively character but he was pretty calm at our place," said Sinnott. "We had a chat but he didn't seem to get worked up about the game.

"Maybe that was down to us and the fact that the longer it went on level, the more the pendulum started to sway in our favour. The onus was on them but once we got through the first 15 or 20 minutes, you could see the belief growing in our players.

"I'm not saying we should have won it but we could have won it because there were a couple of opportunities at the end. Now it's our chance to do it again."

The League Two side, 54 places above Farsley in the football pyramid, are odds-on to get the job done at the second attempt. And Sinnott is under no illusions.

"They will come out all guns blazing and want to blow us away early on. We expect that and have to be strong enough to withstand the bombardment.

"They were favourites to win the first game and even more so this one. But we've got to embrace our position as underdogs and we'll give it a right go."

Sinnott will have a full squad to choose from with the return of Roy Stamer, who sat out Saturday's 2-1 victory over Ketter-ing. The Celts have won both matches since the previous cup tie - a fact that has delighted their manager. "It shows we've stayed switched on. Sometimes when you've got a big FA Cup tie coming up then it is a distraction and gets into the subconscious.

"It took this club 16 years to get promoted so the league has to be the priority but you can see the players growing in confidence with every game. They've kicked on from the first MK Dons game."

Farsley boast their fair share of professional experience with the likes of former City pair Craig Midgley and Gareth Grant, as well as Carl Serrant and Martin Pemberton.

Sinnott added: "That will definitely help us but the others should gain experience from the first game. We have a nice blend in the side of experience at different levels and they learn off each other.

"We are going to need all of that if we are to pull off a result tonight. But whatever happens, you can't take away what we have already achieved."
