Farsley know they are in the last-chance saloon as far as the Evo-Stik League play-offs go when they host mid-table Burscough in Division One North on Saturday.

Another defeat, on the back of two away losses, would sound the death knell for Farsley’s promotion aspirations. Neil Parsley’s men are now nine points off the play-off places with just 12 games of their season remaining.

A win for Burscough, who are 12th, would see the Lancashire club climb to within three points of their eighth-placed hosts and they would still have a game in hand.

Parsley and his players have no intention of allowing that to happen and will be looking for a win as a springboard to reinvigorate their campaign. Before the back-to-back defeats, Farsley had enjoyed a ten-game unbeaten run.

The form they displayed in that sequence of results saw them back on the verge of the promotion play-offs and progress in the League Cup.

Parsley reports no fresh injury concerns but, after the narrow defeats, he has urged his team to defend more from the front and protect a lead once they get ahead in games.
