With Bradford City taking 36,000 fans to Wembley yesterday, there was only one senior football match played in Bradford, and that was at Newhall Park School, Bierley, where Dudley Hill Rangers entertained West Riding County Cup semi-finalists West Bowling in a Bradford Sunday Allaince League Premier Division match that made Sky Sports News.

There were no goals, however, although the visitors missing a last-minute penalty kick.

The game was only West Bowling's eighth league match of the season due to being successful in various cup competitions, and they will be playing catch-up at the end of the season.

They have to play big rivals Buttershaw White Star in two top-flight matches, the Buttershaw clash being a week on Sunday, while the West Bowling game is pencilled in for Thursday, April 18.

The pair also clash in a League Cup semi–final on Easter Sunday (March 31) at Rawdon Meadows, and could also clash in a Bradford & District FA Cup semi-final if Buttershaw White Star win their delayed quarter-final tie against Wharfedale Triangle League outfit Salts.

Bowling have been successful in the West Riding County Cup, winning it twice and reaching five semi-finals in six years, and they are Bradford and District FA Sunday Senior Cup holders.

Buttershaw, meanwhile, are defending the cup and league double that they won last season, but were knocked out of the West Riding County Cup in the early rounds and did not enter the FA Sunday Cup which was contested by Sunday Alliance top-flight teams West Bowling, Thornton United and Bolton Woods.
