Salts threw away the chance of causing an upset in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup when they let slip a three-goal quarter-final advantage at holders Ovenden West Riding before losing 4-3 in extra time.

Goals from Jonny Cunnington, Joe Pleasance and Andrew Howland had put Salts in charge before Rob Graham reduced the arrears on the stroke of half-time.

Ovenden then turned the tables in the second half and, thanks to strikes from Damian Randall and Andy Gregory, levelled at 3-3 to send the game into extra-time, where Graham grabbed his second goal, which turned out to be the winner.

Tyersal, who like Salts had already booked their semi-final place in the Bradford & District FA Saturday Challenge Cup, failed to overcome hosts Hall Green United, who won 2-1 with first-half goals from Clifton Firth and Jamie Miller, Damian Rushworth netting a consolation.

Bay Athletic and Golcar United were locked together at 2-2 at the end of normal time before Golcar United advanced to the last four with a John McAliskey extra-time winner.

Earlier, Kieran Ryan and Danny Ryan had netted for Bay after Dean Wareham’s double had given Golcar the edge.

Campion were 2-2 at the interval in their Premier Division game at Storthes Hall before going down 4-2.

Jacob Robertson, Michael Hall, Alex Slack and Oliver Taylor were on target for Storthes Hall, Andrew Atkinson and Lincoln Donaldson netting Campion’s first-half efforts.

Littletown came out on top in the battle between two teams at the foot of the table.

Joe Jagger (2), Richard Newman, Jordan Maltas, Lamin Bojang and Lee McKeown were Littletown's marksmen as they beat fellow strugglers Overthorpe SC 6-0 to move above Marsden and Kirkburton.

After losing their first three league games, Hunsworth, with a ninth consecutive victory, have propelled themselves into pole position in Division One, ahead of Huddersfield YMCA on goal difference.

Their latest victory - a 4-3 home success over Tingley Athletic - was in doubt until the second half when, after being 3-1 adrift, Hunsworth hit back to take the points.

Dale Wright (2), Craig Gilroy and Tom Ormondroyd were on target for Hunsworth, with Jack Darrington, Mathew Bannister and Scott Love scoring in the first half for Tingley.

Huddersfield YMCA, who have played two fewer games than Hunsworth, had strikes from Teboho Mpala (2) and Adam Webb to thank as they beat Halifax Irish 3-1.

Lower Hopton inflicted a third successive defeat on visitors Ventus-Yeadon Celtic, Lloyd James, Leigh Miller, Liam Riley and Andrew Clough scoring in their 4-2 victory, while Chris Liddemore and Adam Turner replied.

Campion Reserves and AFC Emley will have to find a new date for their Division One Cup game that was postponed after Manningham Mills' pitch was frozen.

Steeton Reserves, who were beaten 4-1 by Dudley Hill Rangers in the Division Two Cup earlier in the month, held onto second place in Division Two with a 3-1 home victory over the same opponents.

Adam Spencer scored twice to add to an Andy King strike for Steeton, James Scott replying for Rangers.

Salts Reserves bounced back from being 1-0 down at half-time at home to Littletown Reserves to win 3-2, Richard Magson (2) and Andrew Holmes netting for Salts, while Richard Burke and Kyle Laycock were on target for the visitors.

Tyersal Reserves stay rooted to the foot of the table after losing 2-1 at home to West Horton.
