City are back in the FA Cup after an appeal at Wembley today.
They had been kicked out last week for fielding on-loan defender Curtis Good in the second round game with Brentford without all the necessary clearance.
But director of operations David Baldwin attended an appeal hearing with legal representatives, who succeeded in getting the original decision overturned.
City have been reinstated - but have been fined £1,000 for their actions.
A club statement said: "We deeply regret our breach of the rules and are currently reviewing our procedures to ensure no repeat of this situation.
"The club would like to go on record and express gratitude to our legal partners, who represented us before the tribunal.
"The club also wishes to extend its gratitude to the FA appeals committee for dealing with this matter expeditiously, justly and mercifully."
City will now play their replay at Griffin Park on Tuesday.
