SIR – Your editorial ‘Festival is a huge draw to district’ (T&A, July 2) has given me an entrepreneurial inspiration.
One weekend towards the end of this summer I propose to mount powerful loudspeakers on the roof of my house and transmit music at a sufficient volume to heard at least two miles away down the Aire Valley.
This service will commence on the Friday evening and continue through Saturday until Sunday evening.
I realise that I shall be in danger of behaving anti-socially so I shall open my garden at a very modest entrance fee to those who want to experience the event at close hand.
This will be an expensive promotion but I give my word that I shall not seek any financial support from Bradford Council. I intend to call the occasion ‘Beech Street Music To Waken the Dead’.
I would be be grateful if you would allow me the hospitality of your columns to assess the degree of public support this venture is likely to receive.
