SIR – I’m not one to defend the Tories or their policies, but I’m afraid my old friend Max Hey is letting his left-wing bias get in the way of the facts again.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t recall any politician talk of “getting the disabled out of their wheelchairs” (to work, presumably, without being “cured”), as Max claims.
Does Max think that no disabled person would choose to work if he/she could, taking on work that had been tailored to help them work, particularly those born with disabilities?
I suggest that he should consult ‘the disabled’ before he presumes to speak for them!
