SIR – Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford’s executive member for sport and leisure, stated: “We want more people to take regular exercise, but we recognise that it’s not always easy to fit into a busy day.” (T&A, June 7).
So saying, Keighley Leisure Centre is open half-an-hour earlier at 7am for a trial period.
However, some months ago, when Clubactive members at Bingley Baths expressed the same sentiments to the aforementioned councillor, our pleas were ignored – and opening times at Bingley Baths were drastically pruned from 7.30am to 9.30am.
