SIR – It was reported (T&A, June 12) that security staff had confiscated 1,832 items from visitors at Bradford Crown Court over a ten-month period.
Within this figure were 20 knives with blades longer than 3in, four locked knives and 190 tools.
Now why would anyone attend court carrying such items, let alone the 515 cameras also mentioned?
However, the most important question is whether those possessing these knives were prosecuted for carrying an offensive weapon.
If not, why not? Shouldn’t we be told?
