SIR – While taking my wife to an appointment at the Allerton Medical Centre, we travelled along Braithwaite Avenue, between Allerton Road and Bell Dene Road, a distance of something like half a mile, and I was astounded at the amount of properties that were closed off with metal shutters where the windows and doors are.
Surely with people screaming for homes, something could be done to bring these back into being usable housing.
In the short distance we drove I would imagine something like 30 to 40 houses were lying dormant.
Is there any sense in this at all?
