SIR – We live in a lane with a public path on one side of it (our side).
We have noticed a significant increase in people walking quite large dogs in the area. So unfortunately for us residents we are seeing much more ‘dog do’ just left on the paths and grass verges.
We live very close to Thornton Grammar School and the pupils have to walk on these paths. Some weeks ago there were four lots of significantly large lots of ‘dog do’ left on the actual footpath between our house and the school.
Because this is becoming a major problem in many parts of Bradford, we would like to inform and remind all dog owners that it is against the law, punishable with a large fine to let their dog deposit its ‘doings’ and not pick it up. This relates to anywhere in Bradford.
Having spoken to an environmental health officer recently, it really does mean anywhere in Bradford. So just because the Council has stopped putting up the signs doesn’t mean it’s a toilet area for your dog! So pick it up.
