SIR – What a pleasant surprise to discover that Bon Marche has reopened its Broadway branch in the city centre.
A welcome boost to the otherwise desolate looking shopping precinct and a show of confidence in the city’s struggling retail sector.
Now the ladies need to get behind it so they can stay in business – a case of use it or lose it!
Plus I note that the former Yates’s Wine Lodge on Queensgate is to reopen as a new venue, providing a further vote of confidence in our city centre.
If only Westfield would now provide us with a positive announcement so we can truly believe that our city is finally moving forward.
