SIR – On Sunday, December 11, Emily Court Residential Home, in Great Horton, Bradford, was visited by the youth group from Sunbridge Road Mission. They joined us to welcome in the festive spirit of Christmas and performed carols, hymns and songs and shared with us some festive readings.
We at Emily Court would like to express our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of them for their visit. Not only did they perform fantastically, but also gave their time to sit and chat with our residents.
It was lovely to see two generations, who usually would not be associated, join together in such a social event. These young people had no need to give their time and lend an ear to the elderly, but they did and all – youths and elderly alike – enjoyed the experience.
The atmosphere within the home on this visit was fantastic, and we look forward to them joining us again in the future to celebrate such events.
Special thanks to Hillary Hodges and her husband, Frank, for organising such a successful and enjoyable event.
