SIR – So, there is to be a grand opening for the new City Park in late March (T&A, December 7), when it will be interesting to see whether the expenditure of around £25M is actually justified.
What proposals are there, one wonders, to deal with the 2.2m visitors per year? That’s more than 6,000 per day, 365 days of the year, who, we were assured, would be attracted to this venture?
One would have thought that new businesses would have been queuing up to locate in the area in order to tap in to the accompanying income that will surely be generated from this?
However, with little having been seen in that regard, does this mean that those quoted figures are not generally believed?
We await such answers with great interest.
