SIR – It seems David Cameron still has no real idea of how the country is governed. He has now suggested employers should be able to sack incompetent workers with the minimum of red tape. A statement surely of the blindingly obvious.
The reason youth unemployment outside professions and vocations is a chronic 35 per cent in vast areas of the EU is that employment policy is an EU remit. As is fishing, agriculture, energy and now, thanks to Conservative party support, financial services.
There is nothing Westminster can do. Which is why we all wanted a referendum. Wakey wakey, Dave!
