SIR - R Halliday (T&A August 23) would have us believe that Bradford city centre is devoid of lovely old buildings.
Go to Leeds, he proclaims, and see what they've got.
Well our new buildings have not yet risen from the ashes but when they do, they will be surrounded by some really fine old structures like, for example, those in Cheapside, Kirkgate, Hustlergate and Little Germany.
Visitors can also admire the Cathedral, St Peter's House, Midland Hotel, right, St George's Hall, Britannia House, T&A offices and many more, not forgetting our piece de resistance, City Hall. As for mixing the old with the new, does Mr Halliday not think that the splendid modern Hilton Hotel is in the right context?
