SIR - It was encouraging to see the Council is being responsible with reducing the amount of energy it uses and as you rightly point out we can all follow the example (T&A, August 31). It is just a pity that we need to be forced to behave properly by increases in cost when there is sufficient evidence all around us with the changing climate and the rising carbon dioxide emissions.
