SIR - Re "Eat Out" (T&A, August 26). Mike Priestley wrote about the new restaurant Yo Yo in Rosse Street, Shipley, and stated that it used to be a wicker furniture showroom. But does anyone remember it as Jowett Bros, Shuttlemakers?
I worked there as an apprentice in 1955 until its closure in 1981. The large window in the foreground was the delivery door and I used to sit at the open door at lunchtime, away from the sawdust, and eat my lunch.
When Jowett Bros closed it was the last shuttlemakers in Yorkshire.
