SIR – May I through your letters thank very earnestly and gratefully the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff of wards three and 29 at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

While in the hospital with a severe chest infection, I received the utmost care and consideration from everyone in the wards, their kindness knew no bounds and their help no limitation.

I cannot praise highly enough these people who devote their lives to helping such as me, who was in need of medical care and attention, with such cheerfulness and happiness.

God bless them all.

Mrs M Casburn, Bretton Court, Bradford
