SIR – Of course the Prime Minister had the right to crack a joke, following in the footsteps of film director Michael Winner.
It’s just such a shame that David Cameron does not have the expertise of the late Bob Monkhouse, nor of the first-class entertainer Ken Dodd who always gives beyond the ticket money’s worth.
