SIR – It may be hard to believe, but nevertheless it is true that for the Government to save money, they have ordered the MoD to sack 5,000 soldiers, hundreds of whom are just short of qualifying for a full army pension.
Worse still, the wounded from the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts will not escape the axe.
What a way to treat those who have given so much to our country. Pity the boot is not on the other foot.
