SIR – Re K Fitzgerald’s letter with regard to the whereabouts of a time capsule found at Bingley Hospital (Letters, March 20).
It’s probably in the same place as the plaque commemorating soldiers who fought in the Boer war, which was erected in Bingley Library about ten years ago. I am interested in finding the whereabouts of this plaque, but have had no success so far.
I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for the time capsule being put in the new library, as I was told Bingley folk preferred to have the model steam engine and there was therefore no room for the commemorative plaque as well.
So much for honouring our ancestors.
I hope K Fitzgerald has more luck with the time capsule than I have had with the plaque.
