SIR – What a picture of the sign saying Bradford Urban Garden Closed (T&A, January 12)!
A ‘ City Hall Closed ‘ sign would cheer up Bradfordians, as incompetence is obviously regarded as a major skill requirement there.
Flooding to our city centre is well recorded, yet we are treated to absolutely dire and desperate excuses from an anonymous Bradford Council spokesman.
Comments like: “Improvements to drainage will make the area more accessible for people to enjoy”, and: “A series of artworks are due to go on display soon, and make the site more appealing for use by the community”.
The saying about a swamp and a crocodile comes to mind; perhaps even a replica of Noah’s Ark is on its way.
