SIR – Now that our councillors are no longer subject to the political power of the patronage of Yorkshire Forward, the scales have suddenly fallen from their eyes and they are now viewing Little Germany with the realism which has been evident to the rest of us for the past few years.
I used to visit Dusseldorf, also a former textile centre, and stayed in the “Alt Stadt” which had a vibrant nightlife.
Perhaps sending a couple of councillors there on Jet2 £9.99 flights would be within the revised regeneration budget and give them some useful ideas.
