SIR - I had reason to visit Bradford recently, but to my dismay I think the Council has done a blunder in making Centenary Square. What I saw sent shivers down my spine.

Though it is very nice to look at, I fear it is a place not to tread too often.

The police scoured the area removing a man laid on the floor next to a cash machine, and then questioned what looked to be three youths of a dubious nature.

I moved from my seat, away from four men who also appeared to be up to no good. I, for one, will not be visiting Bradford again for some time.
