SIR – The front page of the T&A (September 9) brought to each one of us a truly tragic story of a young man’s suicide. It is impossible to contemplate how we would have reacted to such devastating news in our own lives.
Your headline was “Grieving mum in plea to others”, but in spite of such earth-shattering news, Mrs Wallace was able to make a plea to all desperate young men.
She said: “Please if anyone has worries or thinks life is bad and impossible to go on, I beg you please just talk to someone, anyone, don’t give up, don’t break your family’s and friends’ hearts.”
For Mrs Wallace, to make such a moving plea, at a time like this, has shown remarkable courage and she is to be greatly admired, to be able to think of others and offer advice having faced such a tragedy in her own life.
